Abstract:

In 2003, the pygmy rabbit (Brachylagus idahoensis) was listed as a sensitive species by the Idaho Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Idaho Department of Fish and Game. This article presents a survey of potential pygmy rabbit habitat in the northern portion of the Idaho Falls BLM District, inventory and documentation of pygmy rabbit presence and absence, and documentation of pygmy rabbit burrow locations. In addition, a description of vegetative communities, landscape features, and land use patterns where the rabbit was located was provided.
