Abstract:

Ongoing research assessing the potential effects of Idaho Power Company projects operating within the range of several threatened and endangered (T&E) aquatic mulloscs (snails). This report includes three sections. The first part presents life history observations of Snake River (T&E) monitored snail colonies. The second section discusses competition between two freshwater snail species Potamopyrgus antipodarum and the Taylorconcha serpenticola, in an enclosure study from 1999 and 2000. And finally, a review of growth rates of the New Zealand Mudnail, Potamoyrgus antipodarum (Gray) at five temperatures is provided.
