Abstract:

The 1995 annual breeding bird survey at the Craters of the Moon National Monument documents a total of 474 individual birds of 45 species. Upon examining the 1995 data for the priority vegetation types (VT's), the number of individual bird species increased over last year's count. It is the second lowest count in the past seven years of the census. Species richness and diversity decreased, following a increase in these two parameters in 1993 and 1994.
