Abstract:

This key covers all the species in the Carrot Family (Apiaceae) that are known to grow in the wild in Idaho and Montana. Illustrations of Carrot Family morphology, definitions or explanations of terms, and a species list that shows authors of scientific names are provided after the key. An measurement expressed as “(4)10-40(60) mm”should be read as “10-40 mm, rarely as short as 4 or as long as 60 mm.” <br>

Species names presented in boldface types are native to Idaho and/or Montana. Although introduced Apiaceae are diverse in these two states, only five of them are widespread and common: Anthriscus acaulis, Conium maculatum, Daucus carota, Pastinaca sativa, and Torilis arvensis.
