Abstract:

This Excel spreadsheet compiles records of owl detections from March 2011 survey efforts for boreal owls in the U.S. Forest Service Region 7, Salmon–Challis National Forest, North Zone. Two species were detected in addition to boreal owl, resulting in 27 observations total. Information captured for each observation includes species common name, transect ID, survey date, number of individuals detected, time interval of detection, estimated distance (m) and direction to the owl(s), location coordinates, and comments about the observation. Additional worksheets included provide transect locations; survey times, locations, and temperatures by transects; and, for two transects, watershed name and comments.
