Abstract:

This report presents results of surveys conducted on July 15 and 18, 2005, in eight locations on the Saylor Creek (SCR) and Juniper Butte (JBR) ranges associated with Mountain Home Air Force Base. On the SCR, 8 species of mammals, 25 species of birds, and 1 species of reptiles were identified. On the JBR, 8 species of mammals and 16 species of birds were noted. No threatened or endangered species were observed at any of the locations. Several species of concern, including Brewer’s Sparrow, Burrowing Owls, Loggerhead Shrikes, Sage Grouse, Sage Sparrow, and Sage Thrasher, were seen during the survey. Three different noxious weeds were also observed.
