Abstract:

On 18 July 1984, John Barss collected a mummified adult male spotted bat (Euderma maculatum) from the floor of a small crevice in the base of a west-facing andesitic cliff overlooking the John Day River, 0.20 km S and 0.15 km E Clarno, Wheeler County, Oregon. The pelage of the bat is in good condition, but the pinnae, nose pad, lips, and some of the patagial membranes are missing. Identity of the bat was confirmed by J. Mark Perkins.
