Abstract:

The arcynopterygine genus Megarcys in North America is reviewed. Five species, M. irregularis (Banks), M. signata (Hagen), M. subtruncata Hanson, M. watertoni (Ricker), and M. yosemite (Needham and Claassen), are recognized. New illustrations for the males and females and a key to species are presented. Scanning electron photo-micrographs of the eggs are given.
