Abstract:

The authors consider 17 species of Meringis valid: M. agilis Eads, M. altipectin Traub & Hoff, M. arachis Jordan, M. bilsingi Eads & Menzies, M. californicus Augustson, M. cummingi Fox, M. deserti Augustson, M. dipodomys Kohls, M. disparalis Eads, M. facilis Eads, M. hubbardi Kohls, M. jamesoni Hubbard, M. nidi Williams & Hoff, M. parkeri Jordan, M. rectus Morland, M. shannoni Jordan, and M. vitabilis Eads. Differential characters for the taxa, together with host and distributional records, are presented. A key is included to assist in species identification.
