Abstract:

The grizzly bear (Ursus arctos) is considered a rare and endangered species. The animal still frequents extreme northeastern Washington and adjacent northern Idaho, although indications are that their numbers are greatly reduced. The notes herein establish the presence of the grizzly in that area from the early 1900's to date.
