Abstract:

A new species, Cicindela waynei, is described from Idaho: Owyhee County, Bruneau Dunes State Park. It differs from the closely related C. arenicola in characters of the mandible, female mesepisternum, and male and female genitalia and has average differences in coloration, maculation, and chaetotaxy. The ovipositor shows arenicolous adaptations.
