Abstract:

To better understand the presence of bats in Idaho before the possible arrival of threats, such as white-nose syndrome (WNS), to bats, this Excel workbook was made to tally findings in Idaho Department of Fish and Game Region 4. Spreadsheets were made for information from Craters of the Moon National Park and Preserve and from Bureau of Land Management's Shoshone District. Dixon also created a summary spreadsheet for prioritizing species and caves based on a ranking system involving population data existence, ability for surveyors to observe bats, distance to WNS-infected bats, presence of threatened and endangered species, bat colony size, relative bat diversity, and other variables.
