Abstract:

Idaho Army National Guard biologists sampled 51 slick spots in September and October 2000. The study site, which is south of Kuna and east of Swan Falls Road, is a BLM seeding done after a 1989 fire that burned in the vicinity of Initial Point, Ada County, Idaho. The study site is 1/2 mile east of Initial Point. Inside each slick spot, all individuals of Lepidium papilliferum and Kochia prostrata were counted. All 51 of the sampled slick spots had Kochia prostrata plants. Lepidium papilliferum plants were found in four of the 51 slick spots. Three of the 31 Lepidium papilliferum plants, or .096 per cent, were reproductive in 2000.
