Abstract:

Mirabilis macfarlanei, MacFarlane's four-o'clock (Figure 1 ), is listed as Endangered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and is therefore on the U.S. Forest Service Sensitive Species List for Region 6. It is also listed as Endangered by the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA, Oregon Administrative Rule 603-73-070). As one of only six species listed by the USFWS in Oregon, M. macfarlanei has received considerable attention and discussion. However, little information on the species' population trends is available. <br>

The primary objective of this report is to evaluate population monitoring data from permanent plots at three populations of Mirabilis macfarlanei sampled between 1990 and 1995. A secondary objective is to recommend a more suitable monitoring method for the species and outline additional information needs.
