Abstract:

These two forms record information about two emergence counts after sunset of bats at the maternity colony at Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge, from bat boxes on the refuge shop building, on 31 July and 1 August 2015. Included on the forms are surveyor names, time period, weather and other conditions, location, and nearby habitat type. The first night a bright light on the building made observation difficult; the second night it was turned off. The first night 270 bats emerged from, while 23 returned to, the boxes, resulting in a net number of 247. The second night 308 left the boxes while 17 returned, for a net number of 291. Two species were identified: little brown myotis and Yuma myotis.
