Abstract:

The purpose of this monitoring plan (Plan) is to accrue long-term monitoring information throughout the Owyhee subpopulation of the Great Basin population of Columbia spotted frogs; survey sites representative of the subpopulation; and provide the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG), and the Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) with information that can be used to modify land management practices to facilitate long-term persistence of spotted frogs (and ultimately improve ecosystem health). The goal is to assess long-term population trends as part of an effort to maintain and improve spotted frog productivity while integrating other resource activities. The Plan is designed to be conducted annually over the next ten years.
