This is a conveniently located pond inside Shoshone Falls Park near Twin Falls. This scenic county park also features hiking, fishing docks, picnic areas, and swim beach with other amenities nearby.

Dierkes Lake is where thousands of kids have caught their first bass, trout or bluegill. It's one of a few fishing spots that is resistant to southern Idaho's cyclical droughts. Three generations of the Villasenior family share a family tradition as they fish the shoreline for trout and bluegill.

Directions

From US Hwy 93/Blue Lakes Blvd in Twin Falls, go 3 miles east on Falls Ave E. Turn north on N 3300 E and go 1 mile to the park entrance. County park fee applies. From the kiosk continue about 0.6 mile and veer right on Dierkes Lake Rd to the pond.

Daily Bag Limits

The following daily bag limits apply to all waters within each region except as modified in the Special Rules. The possession limit is 3-times the daily bag limit after the second day of the season.

Magic Valley Region Bag Limits
Bass (Largemouth and Smallmouth)

  • Bass limit is 6, both species combined
  • None under 12 inches

Brook Trout

  • Brook Trout limit is 25
  • Harvest allowed during any open season unless otherwise noted under Special Rules - if gear or bait restrictions are listed, they must be followed when fishing for Brook Trout

Bull Trout

  • Bull Trout limit is 0, catch-and-release

Kokanee

  • Kokanee limit is 6

Sturgeon

  • Sturgeon limit is 0, catch-and-release
  • Sturgeon must not be removed from the water and must be released upon landing
  • Barbless hooks are required
  • Use of a sliding swivel device to secure a weight, and a lighter test line to secure weight to sliding swivel device is required. See fishing regulations for details

Tiger Muskie

  • Tiger Muskie limit is 2, none under 40 inches
