Species Account:
I birded the lake fairly thoroughly by driving and walking the east margin to the far north end. I then returned to the south end by walking through the riparian and shrub vegetation east of the lake. It was late and warm by the time I covered the riparian and shrub vegetation so the bird activity had diminished. The wind was very still, 62F was the temperature, sky clear. A beautiful fall day that allowed a good look across the lake. I used a Leica spotting scope and Swarovsky binoculars to count waterfowl. Counts of more abundant species were approximate by adding clusters.
