These are walking miles along the very upper end of the road from 1/4 mile south of the old Mica Mine north and back. Some the time I was on the road but much of it I was on game trails. Mammals oberved: Yellow-pine Chipmunk, Red-tailed Chipmunk, Pine Squirrel, BLACK BEAR, Elk calf, Coyote. Bird of note is Dusky Grouse. I at one time observed this species almost every time I hunted this area (pre-birding period before 1999).
