Species Account:
Approx. 30 yards away while elk hunting. Smaller to medium size, all black with yellow eyes. Saw its head above a bush, initially thought it was a bear cub. Binoculars brought it into great detail, and it spun and ran before I could shoot. I was able to see body in good detail. Was bedded down in the brush, ran Southwest into the basin.
