The peregrine falcon was first observed flying over the edge of the playa then flew very low over a flock of American avocets. The avocets flushed and the falcon flew along with them and preyed on one. It then flew ca 50 feet with it, landed and started to eat it. The peregrine falcon was observed for ca 10 minutes.
