Species Account:
Bunch of kids were having a party in the back woods of Spirit Lake. One house dog there reacted to movement in the treeline. Howling and snapping heard. One round fired into tree line upon observation of eyes standing approximately 50 years away and at roughly 3 and a half feet from the ground. Two additional sets of eyes seen one hundred yards to the left. Observed to be larger than coyotes. While kids were loading into cars and pulling out one crossed over behind the vehicles to the opposite treeline allowing this observer to see that it was a dark gray/almost black color with lighter underbelly and ears like my Shepard has, but much bigger with a big head and bulkier looking muzzle, had a tail like my Shepard does too, straight down except it was more "fluffy" than hers. Too big to be a coyote, probably too big to be a regular dog. This observer was the last to leave the site, by that time one had stayed in the origional position and the other two had crossed to opposite tree lines creating a triangle around this observers car. No additional rounds fired. No hits. No casualties.

Who
& How
Identification Tools:
Size and sound references. I know coyotes, I grew up around them. I know dogs, I train them. This was too big to be either, and there were many other eye witnesses in agreement to that conclusion. Additional observers include Marshal Knudsen and Austin Hudson. There were around fifteen other individuals, but only first names were available to me for less than half of those individuals: Max, Robert, Cyrus, bare, Johnathon, Lexie, Carson.
