Species Account:
This was the only type of pug moth I could find in the species catalog so I'm assuming this must be it. Wings are held out in resting position. Lower wings overlap the upper ones and are significantly smaller. Edge of the wings is ragged. Specimen is small. Antennae are fairly long. Color is light gray. There is a pattern on the underside of the wings. I don't know about the upperside.
This is the underside of the moth, it was on a glass door.
Also I understand why you used that image to show the upper and lower wings clearly, but it is a bit misleading because that's not the natural posture of the moth in life, and the natural posture is actually how I made my identification. It would be nice if the catalog could be changed to allow multiple photos that can be looked though showing different views of the animal or different phases or variations or ages.
