Species Account:
Note: The place where bird sheltered last survey does not look like an eyrie, probably just a very well used perch, extremely white washed. 9:12 - PEFA appears, coasts up cliff, circles a long time, wails, lands in same spot as last time (looks like a male) on south side of cliff 9:30-9:40 - PEFA circles around intermittently perching, goes for bird in air, fails to caatch, comes back, wails, circles more, lands on branch ~10:00 - 10:30 - Lots of activity. PEFA takes off, heads towards Lemhi mountains. Apparently circles back quickly without me seeing, as it reappears over cliff w/female. Both fly, female perches high on cliff. Male returns w/ something in claw. Female perches in hole briefly (near where Jeff said old eyrie is) prey transfer between male and female. Both perch behind tree blocking view, female disappears. Plenty of wailing from both throughout. Note - PEFA don't seem to care about crows. 11:00 - very loud wailing, PEFA male flying around, joined soon by female. Female goes and perches in depression on rocks near old eyrie. Cannot see into hole due to ledge jutting up and out. 11:12 - Female and Male flying around, returned to same spot. Probably eyrie.
