Species Account:
Note: Four fledglings were observed actively flying about the Clark Hill cliff. At times all four were chasing each other. At other times they split in pairs and engaged in chasing one another. On several occasions, there was a lot of calling. About 1.5 hours into the observation the adults were spotted. One fledgling joined the adults just as one made a kill. Almost immediately, there was a transfer of the kill. Because of the speed of the transfer and distance it was not determined if the transfer was adult to adult or adult to fledgling. The fledgling and one adult went to the ground but we observed no feeding. Because of the stage of the fledglings development and their apparent well-being, Dale, Alan and I are discontinuing the monitoring of this site. The fledglings were flying and perching within a horizontal distance from the aerie of approximately 300 yards upstream to 400 yards downstream.
