Population

EO Number:
151
EO History:
revisit
More potential habitat to survey:
unsure
Additional population comments:
This population could not be relocated in 2018, when it was found to be very heavily grazed and a frequent area of cattle loafing. This follow-up survey was to look for the plant in the absence of grazing this year, and regrowth following the fire. The area was closed for fire rehabilitation due to adjacent uplands burning in 2018. The population area described in the original EO Report is now dominated by invasive annual grasses and forbs, Canada thistle, and diffuse knapweed. Nearby Pyrrocoma insecticruris populations were observed the same day and were in flower. The plants still could not be located here and the population is now presumed extirpated.

***NOTE: The original EO Report for #0151 included a nearby but distinct population at Big Dry Canyon. There are still plants present at Big Dry Canyon (surveyed in 2018), but NOT at Siemans Creek (near Italian Gulch confluence).
