Species Account:
On Highway 21, about MP 46-8 miles North of Idaho City crossing Highway 21 going towards Mores Creek drainage from the west side of Highway and then going towards the creek. It was a large dark brown specimen equal to or greater than 36" body length. It appeared about 6:00 PM. Estimated weight was a fully grown beaver in the 60lbs class or greater. It was car-wise as it halted until we passed then it crossed. We were traveling slow enough to see the beaver crossing. Hopes this helps further research.
