Survey

Survey Site:
Arrowhead Lake Divide

very thorough

Population

EO Number:
44
EO ID:
27864
Population Area:
20 ft. radius
More potential habitat to survey:
yes
Suggestions for other areas to survey:
The ridge leading north from the Arrowhead Lake divide towards Blacknose Mountain may have pockets of potential habitat intermixed with sections of unsuitable habitat. The high divide that extends north from Blacknose Mountain to form the Boise County - Elmore County line may also have sections of potential habitat.
Additional population comments:
This occurrence with only 1 small patch of Lewisia sacajaweana supporting a total of 13 individuals in a 20 ft. radius area. Although mid-August, all Lewisia sacajaweana plants were small and vegetative. The presence of a few late-persisting snow patches and finding early-blooming species such as Ranunculus eschscholtzii still with flowers in the area suggested we might have been a little early for all Lewisia plants to be out and visible above ground. Our survey was thorough in the vicinity of the occurrence. Suspect additional habitat and plants occur in the vicinity, but a lack of time prevented us from searching further north towards Blacknose Mountain.
