Doe Point - Showcase Chairlift

fairly thorough
Population
EO Number:
42
EO ID:
27858
More potential habitat to survey:
yes
Suggestions for other areas to survey:
There is additional potential habitat, on both south-facing slopes of Doe Point and Deer Point, down to the recently constructed Round the Mountain trail. Along the Round the Mountain trail towards the backside of Shafer Butte, potential sites have been seen, but not surveyed for LESA.
Monitoring or research needs for this population:
Continued survey work recommended.
Management needs for this population:
Coordination and conservation partnership with Bogus Basin ski resort strongly recommended
Additional population comments:
As noted previously, there appears to be additional habitat for LESA from Deer Point to the top of Shafer Butte. In previous years, surveys for LESA in the area have been conducted, but none located. Given that LESA populations seem to fluctuate from year to year, it is likely that past surveys were conducted in “low” occurrence times.
