Species Account:
3 Wolves howling in the Clinton creek drainage in Unit 4. We usually here or observe at least 6 bull elk in this drainage during the archery season, but this year not one elk. No fresh sign either. We moved to the Cinnamon creek drainage of the same unit, and although we didn't hear any wolves, there was fresh scat everywhere. The same outcome - no elk. I believe Idaho has a larger population of wolves than F & G is letting us know. Many of the other hunters we talked to in the entire Shoshone creek drainage gave us similar stories.
