Survey
Survey Site:
University of Idaho property at 2105 N Boyer Ave, Sandpoint
Survey Intensity:
fairly thorough
Population
Population Area:
500 m x 100 m
More potential habitat to survey:
yes
Suggestions for other areas to survey:
Similar areas along Sand Creek beyond property boundaries.
Monitoring or research needs for this population:
Population appears stable but property ownership will likely change.
Management needs for this population:
With the potential for the property to changes hands, the slope along Sand Creek should be protected from development. Development of the flats above slope probably won’t have a big impact on the population.
Additional population comments:
Herbarium: Specimen taken by Derek Antonelli but not yet processed. Specimens taken during 2016 Bio-Biltz for UI Herbarium, but not yet listed on Consortium of Pacific Northwest Herbaria website.
Survey site name: University of Idaho property at 2105 N Boyer Avenue, Sandpoint, Idaho. Population is at eastern edge of property along the slope leading down to Sand Creek.
Population area: Population area extends for approximately 500 meters along the west bank of Sand Creek. The population area extends between 50 and 100 meters up the slope from the creek. Population may occur in similar areas along the creek beyond the property boundaries.
Additional population comments: Further survey may uncover additional subpopulations. A photo from 2016 in the WTU Image Collection lists coordinates for a location on the east bank of Sand Creek. This could be consider a separate subpopulation or an extension of this subpopulation. The site was not visited during this survey. Additional report of species is from Pend Oreille Trail along Lake Pend Oreille shoreline in Sandpoint.
