Species Account:
Iris and I trekked down to Mann Lake this morning to look for the shorebird rarities. The very nice (apparently male) RED PHALAROPE was present and still there when we left at about 12:30. It favored the shoreline a bit south of the boat launch/pier down to small mud island. The WHIMBREL was not seen during the 3 hours we were there and I presume has moved on. (As luck would have it, I have seen Red Phalarope in Idaho but not Whimbrel!).--
