Species Account:
This morning there were at least 10 Turkey Vultures (probably more) at the UI Dairy in Moscow. I suspect there is a dead cow over the hill behind the dairy and what are probably migrating TV's are being attracted to the carrion. I saw at least 10 at one time cruising low over and behind the dairy. Later I saw several more heading to the area from the northeast viewed from higher ground at UI Golf Course to the south. Turkey Vultures are generally fairly uncommonly spotted in town although we do get some spring and fall migrants and they are present in the breeding season from further east in the county. This is the largest group I've seen right in town.
