Species Account:
Lewis' Woodpecker was a lifebird identification. Saw dark back and rosy belly, but not an American Robin color even in Idaho where the females look different (very very pale). Posture was upright on snag, tail was woodpecker pointed and all the squalks. Then there were three on the snag. Had to go to Salmon Library for ID since NDM had my Sibley's. Talked birds with a Mom and 10 yr-old son. Librarian had grandparent from Island Pond, VT! All this on raft float - great day.
