Hot, 85 F, mostly sunny. Large orange fritillaries; white sp.; blue/copper sp.; large yellow swallowtail sp.; Mourning Cloak. Birded from Boulder Lake TH to Wildhorse CG (7320' elevation). Habitat primarily lodgepole pine-Douglas fir-spruce sp.? along a willow riparian corridor; pockets of sagebrush and aspen stands mixed in. Golden-mantled ground squirrel. No WCSP or LISP seen or heard but presumed present. Relatively few birds vocalizing.
