Species Account:
The American Golden Plover is still a tough one for me. I am certain it was a female plover, and we had great views of it on the ground and in flight and we recorded in the field, the round head, short-small and dark beak, a darker ear patch, black wing tips in flight, and the tail appeared to be the same as the body color. The only things leading me to believe it to possibly be a black-bellied is that it was solitary and that black-bellied would be a more plausible sighting. (after comments from the birding world, I have changed my record to show Black-bellied Plover)
