Species Account:
These wolves were traveling in pairs of two, perhaps 20 to 40 seconds lapsed between the first pair crossing the road and the second pair following suit. The first pair were coal black, one of the second pair was gray and the fourth wolf was much lighter in color than the other three, but I couldn't report a specific color. I did not notice any particularly identifiable features as they were headed into the Frank Church at full speed.

Habitat Description:
I was driving west on FSR#579 about 1/4 mile east of the twin bridges crossing over the N. Fork of Elk Creek. Four mature wolves ran across the road in front of me from south to north and disappeared in the timber before I could get out of the truck and have a better look. I had not been aware that posting observations on the web were available until today.
