Species Account:
I was sitting along the south shore of Henry’s Lake access observing birds. I saw a large single white bird with very long neck flying fast westward. above water surface over center of lake yet climbing in altitude. It changed direction, turning north , then eastward still climbing in altitude. I observed it with binoculars. I heard it vocalize which was a higher pitched sound than a trumpeter swan which I’ve observed at Harriman. I could not conclusively identify as a tundra as I could not make out its lore black pattern. I was surprised to see it solo.
