Additional population comments:
The mourning milkvetch population consisted of a series of sporadic, but widespread patches. These patches represented a contiguous population even though they tended to be separated by gaps of varying size apparently lacking plants. Mourning milkvetch density was low within most of the patches. Various size mourning milkvetch plants were observed, suggesting a range of age classes and ongoing recruitment. Mourning milkvetch was not observed in areas that had tall, more consistently dense sagebrush and herbaceous understory canopy cover.
Mapping of population to actual location on the ground: Accurate for area surveyed, but population likely more extensive.
