Abstract:

Besides explaining the land snail survey's scope and range and the previous work performed in the area by malacologists, this report includes discussions of the region’s geologic history; land snail biogeography, occurrence, and ecology; the role of mollusks as biological indicators; and some information on sensitive taxa and recommendations for status. Based on the study, an overview of the survey area’s land snail fauna is provided, followed by specific discussion of individual taxon ecology, range, sites, and status.
