As part of a recurring, dedicated effort by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Idaho Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office (IFWCO) to conserve and better understand native mussels in Idaho (behavior, distribution, abundance, demographics, and trends), mussel surveys were conducted in 2019. In the Idaho Panhandle, 20 streams were inventoried at 31 distinct locations, in 3 different ecosections; 28 km were surveyed and 12,700 mussels were observed. In central Idaho, 10 streams were inventoried at 23 distinct locations, in 3 different ecosections; 28 km were surveyed and 2,900 mussels were observed. This spreadsheet provides a subset of the data collected, namely presence/absence data for three Idaho native mussels. The spreadsheet has 804 point records, both positive for a species' presence (453 records) and negative for presence (351).
