Abstract:

This Excel spreadsheet contains invertebrate observations made at Craters of the Moon National Monument, with dates ranging from 1930 to 2017, and is a growing version of Todd Stefanic's 2014 spreadsheet. The observations were collected mainly from records and specimens held at the Monument and technical reports, such as a 1970 report by two entomologists based on results of their insect surveys conducted in 1964, 1965, and 1967 on Monument land. Information provided includes, when known, common name, Genus species names, revised Genus species names, location, habitat description, date or date range of observation(s), observer, and, when applicable, collection museum name, as well as comments and revisions by Stefanic based on current taxonomy. This November 2017 version of the spreadsheet has 587 observation entries, though some include more than one observation location. The spreadsheet continues to be a work in progress.
