Abstract:

This report presents results of a study undertaken to document historical and current distributions of Swainson's and ferruginous hawk nests in southern Idaho. Its primary goal was to use this documentation to determine whether the ranges of these hawks have decreased since the state was first settled. The study also established 10 nesting platforms and collected nest productivity data to begin studying nest site management in areas of high disturbance.
