Floristic treatment of species of pteridophytes (ferns and relatives) and gymnosperms (conifers and relatives) occurring without cultivation in North America north of Mexico (48 contiguous U.S. states, Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and the French islands of St. Pierre & Miquelon). Provides scientific names and selected synonyms, common names, identification keys, descriptions, geographical distributions (by lists of states/provinces and by small shaded maps), habitat notes, and selected illustrations. Treatments primarily by invited specialists; some by staff.
