Abstract:

Relatively little is known regarding the distribution and status of most bat species in the state. Additional information will be needed to ensure their conservation. In 1995 and 1996, an intensive effort to determine spring, summer, and fall season status, distribution, and habitat preferences for bat species in Idaho was initiated. This report reflects efforts occurring during the 1997 and 1998 field season and summarizes data from all four years. Hibernacula survey results for the winters of 1997/1998 and 1998/1999 are also included.
