Special Fishing Opportunity for Trail Creek Pond During Eclipse

VICTOR – For those folks looking for something fun to do while waiting for the solar eclipse to happen or waiting for the traffic to clear afterwards, the Idaho Department of Fish & Game (IDFG) is making the Take Me Fishing Trailer available at Trail Creek Pond outside of Victor from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM on Monday, August 21, the day of the solar eclipse.  Because the pond is nearing dead center in the path of totality, lots of people are sure to be out enjoying the day.

The Take Me Fishing trailers are unique because wherever they appear, anyone can fish for free, as long as they check-in at the trailer.  The trailers are stocked with poles, bait, and helpful staff.  All other regulations regarding method and take remain in effect.

Along with this event, IDFG is hoping that everyone taking part in viewing the eclipse will also take the time to enjoy some fine fishing.  There is even a special page on the IDFG website devoted to “Fishing The Eclipse” - https://idfg.idaho.gov/fish-eclipse.

It is important to remember that the unique opportunity afforded by the Take Me Fishing trailer only exists while the trailer is present and people are checked-in, otherwise all other regulations apply before and after.
