St. Anthony - Anyone interested in learning more about what the Idaho Department of Fish & Game (IDFG) is all about is invited to attend a free event that will be held in St. Anthony at the Clyde Keefer Park this Saturday the 4th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
According to event organizer Senior Conservation Officer (SCO) Lauren Lane, "We are excited to provide an open platform for outdoor enthusiasts to ask questions and discuss topics with Fish and Game employees." The public will have a chance to learn about what IDFG does, and discuss current and upcoming issues with biologists and conservation officers. There will be stations covering wildlife management, habitat, fisheries, enforcement, bear awareness and education.
According to Lane "We are looking forward to introducing St. Anthony to the Upper Snake Region's first K-9 Unit, SCO Tim Klucken and Dexter" Klucken and Dexter have just completed a special training in Indiana for wildlife enforcement K-P’s and they will be showing off what they are able to accomplish as a team to protect Idaho’s Wildlife.
"I believe this event will be beneficial to community members interested in learning more about the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and current projects.” said Lane. Members of the public will also have the opportunity to sign-up to volunteer for projects they are interested in helping with in the future.
