I fish Alexander reservoir frequently and carp are becoming the only fish caught there so when they are caught can they just be left on the bank or killed and tossed in the water so other critters can eat them? I would like to help with removing them from the reservoir but there's not much information on how to dispose of them.
Answer:
Throwing the dead carp back in the water could technically be constrewed as littering under Idaho statutes. If you want to harvest carp and don't plan on eating them, we suggest you take them home and use them for fertizlier, find a local mink or hog farm that can utilize them for animal food, or place them in the garbage.
