Individuals who turn 51 during a calendar year may purchase the senior lifetime certificates at any time during the year. The certificate entitles a holder to the appropriate annual lifetime license. To receive a senior license, a person must be sixty five (65) years of age or older and who have been bona fide residents of the state of Idaho for a continuous period of not less than five (5) years preceding the issuance of the senior license. In other words, if you are 51 years of age and purchase a senior combination lifetime certificate and remain a resident of Idaho, you will receive the resident adult lifetime combination license up to point you reach the requirements for the senior license.
