Cow elk was typical in color and dead when I arrived. She was a mature animal and was pregnant. I notified Bear Lake County Sheriff's office of my intent to salvage animal; spoke to Kim. Animal was dead on west side of SR 30, ~1 mile north of Ranch Hand Trail Stop - Montpelier. Another cow was being salvaged by another individual on the east side of the road at the same time and location.
